Our Local Employment Service helps people to find work which is appropriate and suitable. It is a free and confidential service. We support people who are looking for work through the provision of help with applying for jobs, providing funding for training and CV tailoring .
A key part of the Local Employment Service is the one to one Guidance service which helps people who are ready for work to identify suitable employment and avail of supports such as grant aided training to improve their job seeking prospects.
The Local Employment Service also works closely with local employers to understand their needs, to help them avail of employment incentives and to place suitable candidates in their company.

We can help you access/return to the world of work by offering you the following free and confidential services:
One to one employment guidance
Career path planning
Development of a tailored CV
Individually tailored job seeking classes and mock interviews
Access to training courses
You can use the Local Employment Service Network if you are:
16 years or over
Unemployed or working part time for less than 30 hrs per week
In receipt of a payment or you are a dependant spouse
Looking for work or training
When you contact your local office we will ask you for your name and PPS number. We will use the details to check your details on our system. You will then complete a registration form and you will be given an appointment to meet with one of our Guidance Officers.At this meeting we will help you to choose and make contact with services that will be most helpful to you in your search for work.
One to one Guidance & Career path planning:
When you contact the Local Employment Service. An appointment will be made for you to meet an Employment Guidance Officer. The Guidance Officer will remain your one point of contact throughout the process. The role of the Guidance Officer is to assist you to identify a career path, inform you of training options and develop your tailored CV.
Job Seeking classes:
All of our clients have access to one to one job seeking classes. The classes are provided on a one to one basis and will help with motivation, CV analysis, interview techniques and communication skills. You will also be given access to resources to help with your job search including use of telephones, newspapers, computers and postage.
Training and other services:
Clients have access to information on local training courses and other supports. Through discussion with the Guidance Officer, clients can also access funding for job specific training such as safe pass, manual handling etc.
If you choose to start your own business we can refer you to on to an Enterprise Officer for further assistance .
For those who are not quite ready to return to full time work, we provide information on Community Employment Schemes, TUS Schemes and other local supports.
